skeleton keys

skeleton keys are used
in further halls
     and closed rooms

while deities still bemused
are staring, motionless to this shores spell
to whom they allude?
with their kindness subdued, while tumulting raging waves swell
Babylon jests, to delude every guest
        in here
with a bundle
        of cruel thefts
our barefoot encounters, cometh to preach disgrace
into this insane asylum, they bought our triumph
               with their embrace
a cloak of daggers, to fight
staggering
in a barbarian foul play
          where merely an innocent witness is astray,
pale face, away retrieving 
          brooding in a silent deathly pace

in all earth's insipid
          backrooms
dancing behind your own hearse
          - the thrill of death
in golden days still looms
